SAHlWAL: A man was arrested by Harrapa police for severe torture and a rape attempt that led to his sister-in-law`s miscarriage in village 137/9-L.

The complainant, whose husband is abroad for work, reported that her brother-inlaw attempted to assault and rape her while she was alone in her house. When she resisted, the suspect kicked her in the stomach. She fell unconscious and was shifted to hospital. Despite medical treatment, she suffered a miscarriage.

Harrapa police registered a case against the suspect.

In another incident, Ghala Mandi police booked five people, including Ali Haider and Abdur Rauf, along with three unidentified people, for beating Nazia Bibi and her brother in the main bazaar of village 90/9-L. There is an ongoing rivalry between Nazia`s husband and Ali, and to settle the score, Ali allegedly beat Nazia in the bazaar. Nazia suffered a miscarriage due to the torture. Police arrested two suspects.Correspondent
