KARACHI: Over 72,000 people were screened free of cost in a oneday countrywide health check drive conducted by the State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC) as a means to effectively tackle thespread of diabetes in Pakistan.
According to a press release, the SLIC recently partnered with 370 hospitals and health treatment facilities in the four provinces to set upfree diabeticscreening and con-sultation camps.
These camps examined a total of 72,277 people to check their vulnerability to diabetes and 48,518 (67.13 per cent) of them were found to be non-diabetic.-Dawn Report
