TAXILA: A man allegedly killed his brotherin-law to avenge the murder of his sister, while in a another incident; a teenage boy lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Hazara Road in the limits of Hassanabdal police station and Hazro police station, respectively, on Sunday.

Qadeem Khan reported to police that his elder brother Rehman Khan shot dead his wife Asma Bibi on December 31, 2024, in his native Churatta village in Dera Ghazi Khan over a family feud and subsequently was arrested and sent to jail.

Later on February 18, he was released on bail.

On Saturday, Rehman came to Kot Najeeb Ullah to reconcile the murder and settle the dispute with his in-laws when his brother-in-law Shah Wali shot him dead and later left his body in his Suzuki pickup near a hotel on Hazara Road and fled away.

Police registered a case against the nominated accused and launched ahunttoarrest him.

Separately, a teenage boy was killed when his motorcycle collided with a roadside tree while averting a ditch in the limits of Hazro police station.

Police and rescue sources said that Hafiz Kashif was going on his motorcycle with his friend.

While passing through a bridge near village Musa, he tried to avert a ditch but lost control and collided with a roadside tree and died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Attock police on Sunday arrested two suspects who allegedly shot dead an expatriate from Hong Kong and his two sons over a land feud in village Mallah in the limits of Rango police station in Hazro town of Attock on February 11.

Zohaib Khan along with uncle Asif Khan had shot dead Haji Mohammad Ilyas, who recently returned from Hong Kong with his two sons Junaid Khan and Bukhtair Khan, and fled away. The assassins managed to escape from the scene successfully.

Police on Sunday traced them and sent them behind bars.

In another incident, a man was arrested under the Parents Protection Ordinance 2021 in the Rango town of Attock on Sunday for torturing, trashing, and abusing his mother.

The senior citizen in her application stated that on Sunday he came to her house and threw hot water on her and trashed her.

`My son Zeeshan trashed me and misbehaved with me and often beat me black and blue, she said in a police complaint.

Police registered a case against the accused under the Protection of Parents Ordinance, 2021, and sent him behind bars. Under the ordinance, evicting parents will be a punishable offense.

Those found guilty may face a prison term of up to one year, a fine, or both.
