Bakht Baidar not to resign from QWP

By Our Correspondent 2015-03-24
TIMERGARA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) senior vice-president Bakht Baidar Khan on Monday said that he had withdrawn his decision to resign from the party after misunderstandings with the leadership were resolved.

Speaking at a news conference at Timergara press club here, he said that he had full confidence in the leadership of Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao.

Alleging that bogus votes had been used in recent Senate election, the MPA said that he used his Senate vote as per the party directives except the vote he cast in favour of JI chief Sirajul Haq.

Criticising the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Mr Khan said there had been no change in the province. `Development projects have been stalled for the last nearly two years,` he said, adding that despite two sitting ministers from Lower and Upper Dir districts, the road from Talash to Lowari top couldn`t be repaired. He said the patients had been facing shortage of health facilities in all hospitals of the district.

Appreciating the role of ANP Senator Zahid Khan, the QWP leader said the former had done a great job in providing natural gas to different parts of Lower Dir.

He said that Jamaat-iIslami chief Sirajul Haq should also show his performance in the district.

Mr Khan said the people of Dir had attached great expectations with the JI lawmakers and the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led provincial government.

The QWP, he said, would contest the upcoming local government polls in alliance with Pakistan People`s Party, Awami National Party and Pakistan Muslim League-N in Lower and Upper Dir districts.

He said the people of both the districts had been fed up with the present government and they would not vote for the ruling parties in the LG polls.

ROAD ACCIDENT: A boy was killed while 25 others were injured when a pickup van going in a wedding procession overturned at Islam Darra in the Haya Serai police station limits on Monday.

Police and hospital sources said the vehicle was overloaded, as a result it went out of the driver`s control and overturned.
