THE Punjab government needs a pat on the back to have passed the Women Protection Act. It is a pity that religious parties have given an ultimatum to the government to withdraw this law by March 270rface consequences.
I see them as scribes and Pharisees who in the time of Jesus Christ knew the law but while putting it into practice they put such a burden on the people whom they themselves could not carry. Jesus Christ also called them blind guides who have blocked their way to heaven and were also blocking others from entering.
I can say the same for these religious political parties. They only want a Sharia where they can have control over their women and also the minorities.
Let me tell all the readers that womenfolk and minorities of this country have done more services for the good of the country while our political parties in the past misused the name of religion and harmed the country. It is time they realised their mistakes and undid the mistakes they made in the name of religion.
