IF anybody wants to know how the justice system works in Pakistan and how it is dispensing justice to common man, he should visit a few district courts. Like all other state institutions the judiciary needs structural and operational changes.

Why does a simple civil case take decades to decide? Why must several generations wait for a verdict? Why is the application of law for the rich not the same as it is for the have-nots? Why do exploiters become rulers again and again? Why is the former chief justice of Pakistan using government`s fuel and bullet-proof car? Is there any example of such privileges to other retired chief justices? Is the judiciary also not responsible for the present conditions of Pakistan? Syed Tasadaq Lahore
