CONSTRUCTION started on plot No.910 (near my house) a couple of months ago. I informed the party (Muhammad Talha Mahmood, JUI-F senator), to be careful about street depression.
However, not only that plot but even the one adjacent to it was dug at a depth of at least 40 feet without carrying out any proper engineering design and without getting any permission to do so. Owing to this action my house foundation was exposed. Moreover, the contractor removed the leftover sand to level the adjacent plot.
This was a disaster, as within a day my house sagged and its floor started cracking.
My house has already started tilting. I am seriously worried it may collapse any time.
It is astonishing how the National Police Foundation (NPF) has obtained no objection certificates for double basementconstruction not only for the mentioned plot but for many plots in the locality, as it is against Capital Development Authority (CDA) bylaws. The issue was highlighted several times at NPF and CDA offices but in vain. There is visible political influence for no action being taken agianst all this illegal construction.
The dangerous condition of my house has put me in deep psychological and mental stress. This is my only home and I am left with no alternative but to leave it.
