TAXILA:Another suspect wanted in murder and other criminal cases was killed during a shootout with police near Jabbi Dam in the limits of Bassal police station of Attock, police sources claimed.

According to spokesperson for district police, police were bringing a suspect named Mohammad Akbar, who was arrested for his involvement in the murder of former union council chairman Pind Sultani Asif Nawaz Khan on December 26, 2024, to recover the murder weapon.

The police spokesperson said that the suspect was killed allegedly by his own accomplices during an exchange of fire. Soon after the incident, senior police officers reached the spot.

A case was registered on behalf of the state.

Meanwhile, Attock police on Sunday arrested two proclaimed offenders wanted in two different cases and had been at large since long. — Correspondent
