KARAK: The Khushal Khan Khattalc University Karak on Thursday organised a colourful function on campus to remember the great Pashto poet, Khushal Khan Khattak.

The speakers highlighted different aspects of Khushal Khan Khattak`s life. University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Khattak said he was proud of teachers and students due to excellent performance.

He claimed the university`s students performed very well in curricular and co-curricular activities.

The vice chancellor said he would continue striving to turn the university into a great seat of learning not only in the province but also in the country. On the occasion, former vice chancellor of University of Peshawar Professor Dr Qibla Ayaz said he had seen a wonderful function on campus after a long time and that its organisers deserved praise.

He said like classroom activities, cocurricular activities were equally important to prepare young genera-tion well for future responsibilities.

Dr Qibla Ayaz said extracurricular activities were very helpful in the creation of a great society.

`After seeing such a beautiful programme on the life of Khushal Khan Khattak, I can express the hope that we`re going to give future responsibilities of the country in safe hands,` he said.

Deputy secretary of the higher education department Kaleem Baloch, who was also in attendance, recited own poem and claimed that students present on the occasion had learnt so much which they won`t be able to learn from thousand books. He urged students to take active part in co-curricular activities.

RALLY: The Paramedics Association of Karak district on Thursday took out a rally to demand service structure and post upgrade.

The rally led by association district president Asim Khan began from District Headquarters Hospital Karak and ended at Jail Chowk. The speakers said the government had promoted teachers but paramedics were denied promotion. They said paramedics played a crucial role in serving people, so they should be given due rights.
