MUZAFFA RGA R H: The district police officer has constituted a team headed by an SP investigadon to probe a 10th class student`s murder by a landowner.

Mohsin was laid to rest after his funeral prayers on Saturday and later DPO retired Capt Tariq Wilayat visited his home and assured the family that police would leave no stone unturned to penalise the perpetrator. He said police had registered acase under section 302 of PPC.

SP Investigation Ziaullah Khan told this correspondentthat he had been entrusted with the task of probing the matter within a few days.

On Friday, a 10th class student was allegedly tortured to death by a landlord who, the victim`s family alleged, later hanged his body from a tree to show it as suicide at Jagmal area of Alipur about 80km from here.

The family said Mohsin, 15, was grazing his goats when one of theseentered the field of Faiz Ghazlani.

The family alleged that the enraged landowner subjected the boy to severe torture resulting in his death on the spot.

Ghazlani with the help of his servants hanged the victim`s body from a tree and a `fake` suicide note was also found near the body.

Dozens of people protested against police and the landowner and said police did not reach the spot for as long as three hours, allowing the suspects to flee.
