TOBA TEK SINGH: Gojra Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) staffers sealed on Tuesday more than two dozen rundown buildings declared dangerous.
The sealed buildings included a power loom factory, a medical laboratory, a workshop, commercial shops, godowns and houses.
Assistant Commissioner SyedTanweer Kashif told reporters the owners of the properties had been told to raze the properties on their own or the TMA would do the job.
ROAD CRASHES: More than 20 passengers were injured in two road accidents on Tuesday.
Police said a Kamalia-to-Lahore bus collided head on with another bus near the River Ravi bridge on Kamalia-Chichawatni Road. Up to 15 people were wounded and admitted to the Kamalia TehsilHeadquarters hospital. One of them, Abdul Rashid, was referred to the Toba District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
In another accident on Toba-Gojra Road, seven people were critically wounded when a Vehari-toHaifizabad bus hit a motorcycle rickshaw near Chak 319-JB. Six women and a man, all passengers of the rickshaw, were wounded and admitted to the Toba DHQ hospital.
UPGRADE: The Pirmahal Rural Health Centre (RHC) has been upgraded to the tehsil headquarter hospital, said MNA Chaudhry Asadur Rehman.
Pirmahal was declared the headquarters of a new tehsil of Toba district in 2013 but its hospital was still functional as an R HC.
Mr Rehman said at a PML-N workers meeting in Pirmahal on Tuesday the chief minister had ordered its upgrade and Rs300 million had also been released for the purpose.
He also said Pirmahal was located on Faisalabad-Multan Road and accidents often occurred on the road. A large number of accident victims were referred from the Pirmahal hospital to Toba DHQ or Faisalabad Allied hospitals.
