Two electrocuted in Lahore

LAHORE: A woman and a teenaged boy were electrocuted in different areas of the city on Tuesday in rain-related incidents.

According to police, Lubna, 28, a mother of two, of Baghbanpura, was washing clothes while it was raining when she touched switch of a motor pump, suffering a massive electric shock.

She suffered serious burns and died instantly, the police added.

In the other incident, a teenaged boy, Umar Farooq, of Nabeel Town, Manawan, was playing in the rainwater when he touched shutter of a shop that had electric current due to some fault in the wiring. He suffered a severe shock and died on the spot.

Police took the body into custody and later handed it over to the victim`s family after completing legal formalities.

KILLS BROTHER: A man was shot dead allegedly by his elder brother inBadami Bagh on Tuesday.

Police said Abdul Rasheed, 25, of Data Nagar, had a dispute with his elder brother, Yaqoob.

Both brothers exchanged harsh words and Yaqoob pulled out his gun, shot at and injured Rasheed and fled the scene.

The injured was shifted to a nearby hospital where he died.

Police took the body into custody and shifted it to morgue for autopsy.

Station House Officer Sub-Inspector Hamid Husain said a case had been lodged against the suspect and raids were being carried out to arrest him.

SUICIDE: A youth allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills in Factory Area on Tuesday.

Police said Kamran Masih, 22, was upset over his family`s financial problems and consumed poisonous pills.

He fell unconscious and was taken to the General Hospital where he died.

Police shifted it to morgue for autopsy.
