PTI workers granted bail; case discharged

SAHIWAL: An area magistrate granted bail and discharged the case against 11 Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers who were booked for organising a rally demanding the release of PTI founding chairman Imran Khan on June 21.

The Chichawattni City Police had registered a case under Section 16 of the MPO and various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (341,188,148, and149) on the complaint of Inspector Noor Muhammad.

The police accused the workers of chanting slogans against the Punjabgovernment and violating Section 144.

The protesters were arrested on Railway Road when they were heading to Insaf House, Sahiwal, for a gathering.

Those granted bail include Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Rafiq, Shakoor,RehmanMustafa, Asger Ali, Nadeem Sardar, Zohaib Arshad, Sohaib, Muhammad Ayub, and Mehar Din.

PTI MPA Rai Murtaza Iqbal from Chichawatni City was present in court along with his counsel Salman Ali.
