ISLAMABAD: National Security Adviser retired Lt Gen Nasser Janjua will leave for Tehran on Sunday to meet the Iranian Supreme National Security Council`s Secretary Ali Shamkhani and Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli.
According to sources, the agenda for Gen Janjua`s three-day visit comprises security issues.
Iran has been complaining that certain elements from Pakistan have been involved in suspicious activities on its soil.
On July 6, four Iranian border guards were killed in a terrorist attack in the border province of SistanBaluchestan. In a raid in June in the same province, a police officer was killed by terrorists suspected of having connections in Pakistan.
Just ahead of the adviser`s visit, Iran again claimed to have unearthed a terrorist plot and arrested 40 people allegedly digging a 40-metre tunnel near the border with Pakistan.
Islamabad, meanwhile, has concerns about Indian intelligenceagencyRAW(Research and Analysis Wing) using Iranian soil for subversive activities in Pakistan.
An arrested Indian spy, Kulbushan Jadhav, is said to have remained based in Iran and Pakistan had asl(ed Iran to act against his network there.
