MUZAFFARABAD: Elections for the eight reserved seats of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will be held on July 29, according to the schedule announced by the AJK Election Commission here on Saturday.
Apart from the 41 direct seats, the assembly has five reserved seats for women and one each for religious scholars, overseas residents and professionals.
They are elected by the directlyelected lawmakers.

According to the commission`s spokesman Tariq Mahmood Butt, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal has appointed EC Secretary Mian Naeemullah asreturning officer and Assistant Election Commissioner Mohammad Ashfaq as presiding officer for the polls.
The spokesman said that nomination papers for the seats would be filed in the office of the returning officer in New Civil Secretariat, Muzaffarabad, between 9am and 10pm on Monday.
The returning officer will scrutinise the papers at 10am on July 26 and appeals against their acceptance or rejection can be filed before the CEC from 5pm to 10pm.
The CEC will hear the appeals from 10am to noon on July 27 and announce his decisions by 4pm.
The nominations can be withdrawn by noon on July 28 and polling will be held on July 29 in the MLA Hostel from 9am to 2pm.
