ISLAMABAD: Chairman Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) Dr. Tahir Masood has asked consumers to maintain a proper distance from electrical wires, poles, transformers, meters and other electrical equipment during rain.

Never touch electrical equipment with wet hands or body as a minor mistake can cause loss of life during rains, he added.

He said Iesco administration was making every effort to take all measures to protect the consumers from life and financial losses due to electrical accidents.

`Use rubber shoes while using electrical equipment. Use the best material for electrical wiring in homes. Avoid construction under or near power lines because a minor mistake on your part can cause loss of life and property to you and your loved ones,` he said.

He said accidents can be avoided by following precautionary and safety measures. `In case of any emergency, contact the SDOs concerned, Complaint Offices, Iesco Helpline 118,` he added.
