SARGODHA: The district administration has declared the footpath outside Company Bagh, the city`s main recreational park, as a model market, effectively depriving citizens of their right to walk on the footpath.

This decision has caused significant inconvenience to pedestrians, forcing them to walk on the road, which has become increasingly hazardous due to the risk of being hit by motorists.Public and social circles have expressed outrage over this action, calling it a violation of civil rights. They have demanded that the chief minister take notice of this illegal act by the district administration and the municipal corporation authorities.

They argue that, worldwide, footpaths are designated for pedestrians, and the local administration`s decision to repurpose this footpath has unjustly taken away a basic legal right from the people, which must be rectified without delay.
