Minister calls on nation to come to aid of flood victims

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that it is time for the nation to unite and set aside personal and political differences to help out flood victims.

He expressed these views during a visit to the flood relief camp setup by PML-N Rawalpindi chapter at Banni Chowk.

PML-N Rawalpindi President Sardar Nasim, MNA Chaudhry ljaz, former MNA Malik Shakil Awan, local leaders Haji Pervaiz, Chaudhry Naeem and president MSF Punjab Maqbool Ahmed Khan were present at the camp.

The minister said the Punjab government was making all efforts for the relief and rehabilitation of victims and the first installment of government compensation to the affected people will be given out before Eidul Azha.

The minister said the PML-N Rawalpindi had dispatched a number of trucks carrying relief items to Muzaffargarh, Pind Dadan Khan and Christian Colony, Rawalpindi.
