PESHAWAR, Oct 23: Residents of a Christian settlement in the provincial capital on Wednesday protested the alleged highhandedness of a civil armed force`s employee and demanded strict action against him.
The protesters from Christian Colony on Sunehri Masjid Road, including women and children, alleged that Arshad Butt, who claimed to be an employee of Frontier Constabulary, often visited their settlement and abused and beat up innocent people.
They claimed that Arshad Butt recently came to their locality and gave a thrashing to Aslam and Naveed in such a manner that they had to be admitted the hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
The protesters added that the `aggressor` later got three members of their community, including Aslam and Naveed, arrested by police for being a `security threat.
They said Arshad Butt also threatened the `helpless` residents of the locality with theft cases.
They appealed to the Peshawar High Court`s chief justice, the provincial chief minister and the FC commandant to step in and end their misery by ensuring action against Arshad Butt.
An official of Gulberg police station confirmed the arrest of three Christian Colony residents on the complaint of Arshad Butt.
