ISLAMABAD: Speakers at a seminar paid rich tributes to Allama Mohammad Iqbal and said because of his poetry Pakistan came into being.

T he event titled Fikr-e-Iqbal Mein Sainsi Shaoor, was or ganised by Bazm-i-Fikre-i-Iqbal Pakistan at the conference hall of Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL).

National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) Director General and eminent scholar Iftikhar Arif was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof Fateh Mohammad Malik presided over the seminar.

The literary session was also attended by eminent scholars including Dr Ihsan Akbar, Prof Jalil Aali, Ijazul Haq Ijaz, Idrees Azad, Fateh Mohammad Malik and Dr Mohammad Qamar Iqbal.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Fateh Mohammad Malik said Allama Iqbal had beautifully presented scientific philosophy in his poetry, adding that it was wide scope for the Ummah.

He said being a Muslim one should follow the philosophy of Allama Iqbal.

Chief guest Iftikhar Arif said tha Allama was great scholar and thinker of 20th century. His poetry in Urdu and Persian was equally famous among people.

He said that Allama also presented ideology of Pakistan inKhutba Allahbad.-Staff Reporter
