LAHORE: PPP Lahore president Chaudhry Aslam Gill has demanded that the election schedule should be announced at once, no matter who wins the polls.

Speaking at a ceremony held to mark the death anniversary of PPP former chairperson Begum Nusrat Bhutto here on Monday, he said fingers were being pointed at former PM Nawaz Sharif for not condemning the delay in the holding of elections during his speech in Lahore.

To remove this impression, he said, the PML-N too should demand announcement of election schedule immediately without considering which party would win the electoral contest.

Gill said the PPP would not accept `tainted` elections, adding that all political parties should be given a level playing field so that no one could raise a finger at the poll results.-Staff Reporter
