Minor boy stabbed to death, mother, sister wounded in Orangi

KARACHI: A minor boy was stabbed to death and his mother and sister were injured in Orangi Town on Wednesday, police said.
The victims were found injured inside a house near Liaqat School.
They had been stabbed with a sharp instrument. The identity of the suspect could not be ascertained immediately.
Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said they were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where seven-year-old Subhan Shahrukh died during treatment. His mother, Rimsha, 35, and sister Aleeza, 5, were admitted for treatment.
Dr Syed said the deceased boy had suffered trauma to his head and was bleeding from nose and ears, as a result of which he denied during treatment.
Aleeza had also suffered trauma to her head and face and her condition was critical. She was later on shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre along with her mother who had also multiple incised wounds over face and skull and was in serious condition.
SSP-West Tariq Illahi Mastoi said that during initial probe, it had transpired that the incident was the outcome of some personal enmity and a `close relative` was involved in it. The victims` familyhas provided `vital information` to the police, the officer said and added that the alleged suspect had himself informed the family about the tragicincident.
The SSP said he had formed a team led by Orangi DSP for the arrest of the suspect and raids were being conducted.
Orangi Town SHO Arshad Ali Khan told Dawn that possible motive and real identity of the suspect would be ascertained only when the injured woman would get conscious and give a statement to the police. He said her husband Shahrukh told the police that he was at his work when he received information about the incident.
Two suspects gunned down in `encounters` Two suspected robbers were gunned down in separate encounters in the city on Wednesday.
East-SSP Dr. Farrukh Raza said an encounter took place between the Sharea Faisal police and suspects who snatched a car from limits of Aziz Bhatti police. As a result, one suspect was gunned down while another was arrested.
Area SHO Faisal Gul Khawaja said that four suspects had snatched the car from a citizen.
When they were fleeing, the police party chased them and in an ensuing exchange of firing, one suspect,Mehboob, was killed while his accomplice, Maqsood Kareem, was arrested.
Their two accomplices managed to escape from the spot. The police recovered the snatched car and one pistol from their custody.
In another incident, Pak Colony police claimed to have killed a suspect, Waseem Mohammed, in Old Golimar near Lalu Mama Chowk.
Speaking at a press conference, Keamari SSP Faizan Ali said the killed suspect was a most wanted gangster who belonged to Kashif Sindhi gang.
He said that acting on a tip off, the police party led by Raja Khalid, conducted raids on a drug den and in an ensuing exchange of firing, Waseem alias Commander Bengali, was gunned down. He had established a `reign of terror` in Old Golimar, said the senior officer.
There were at least eight FIR registered against the killed suspect pertaining to killings, police encounters and terrorism.
The SSP said five suspects, Sameer, Mohammed Faizan, Salman alias Aneel, Mohammed Irfan and Shakir were also arrested during the raid. Sameer alias Chandu was also a wanted gangster of Kashif Sindhi group who was operating a network of narcotics.
He had also killed a son of former police officer Shakeel Rehman in the past as well.
