PESHAWAR: Health department has launched online system for posting and transfer of its employees and ended use of papersfor issuance of orders.

Director-General Health Services Mohammad Saleem said that information technology cell of the department successfully completed training for capacity-building of the staff in online posting and transfers at provincial level.According to a press release, he said that the initiative was meant to save time and money of employees, who frequented district offices of health department in pursuance of matters related to their services. The launch of the online system would speed up operations, he added.

He inaugurated the new mechanism for posting and transfer by issuing first online order on Wednesday. He said that there would be no paperwork and staffers of health department could pursue their cases regarding posting and transfers through internet.Mr Saleem said that commencement of the system in his office would lead to improvement in the department and would have positive outcome in terms of patients` care. All manual orders were done away with and all sorts of orders would be processed digitally, he added.

He said that in the past people used to visit district and provincial offices in connection with their cases, which consumed their time and money. He said that now all issues would be processed through the online system.
