KARAK: The District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) has approved projects worth Rs120 million which will come from the oil and gas royalty funds.
The decision was made at the DDAC meeting here on Wednesday chaired by its head Gul Sahib Khan Khattak.
Adviser to chief minister on prisons Malik Qasim Khan Khattak, MPA Deena Naz and heads of line departments also attended the meet.
The meeting was informed that the provincial government had released Rs120 million from oil and gas royalty funds to Karak in the second release of 2016 to be spent on public welfare schemes the like roads, water supply, hospitals and electrification.
On the occasion, the DDAC chief came down hard on the education department for not filling the vacant posts of classIV workers at the educational institutions. He pointed out that some teachers had developed the habit of coming late to schools and leaving before time. He directed the EDO education to provide staff to the newly established educational institutions in the district as early as possible.
The lawmaker said there was no room of any laxity in education and health departments as PTI-led government had enforced emergency in both the departments.
He expressed optimism that the remaining amount of the oil and gas royalty funds meant for Karak would be released soon by the provincial government to expedite completion of the ongoing development schemes.
He said all areas of the district would be developed equally without any discrimination. Correspondent
