Work on Talash bypass road to start soon, says MPA

TIMERGARA: Pakistan Tehreelei-Insaf MPA from Lower Dir Shafiullah Khan has said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has released Rs360 million for construction of the KalpaniTalash bypass road, work on which would start soon.
He was addressing the prize distribution function on the conclusion of inter-schools district sports` competitions, at the government centennial model high school, Timergara, on Saturday.
District education officer Ghulam Nabi Khan, sub-divisional education officer Ali Haidar, sports officials, assistant commissioner, Timergara, Shah Jamil Khan, and others were in attendance.
Earlier, the MPA examined a march past of the winning teams and appreciated the students for their talent. Students also recited naat, sang national songs, displayed a PT show and gymnastics, receiving applause from the audience.
On the occasion, Shafiullah Khan said the Lower Dir youth had great potential in sports, butunfortunately they lacked facility of sports grounds.
He said the provincial government was committed to improving the quality of education as it was not only vital for mental development of students, but also the country`s economic and social progress.
The MPA said sports were also essential for students` learning and development. He said the government wanted to construct 1,000 playgrounds across the province. He said he would make efforts to get a sports stadium approved for Timergara.
The lawmaker said several schools were being upgraded to higher secondary level in his constituency. He said the Timergara high school would be reconstructed through Nespal( at a cost of Rs740 million, adding the government high school, Dherai Talash, was also being reconstructed.
The PTI lawmaker promised that classes at the Timergara Medical College would start next year as the government had so far released over Rs500 million for the project.
The MPA distributed trophies and prizes among the winning and runner-up teams.
