BAHAWALPUR: The district administration has announced the enforcement of polythene bags-free policy across the district.
Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa made the announcement on Thursday at a meeting with local traders` representatives, officials of the Bahawalpur Waste Management Company(BWMC) and the department of environment and local government.
The DC asked all superstores and pharmacies to immediately stop the use of polythene bags and instead switch on to the use of paper or cloth bags. The DC and BWMC CEO Naeem Akhtar urged the shopkeepers to also implement `one shop one dustbin` policy and keep dustbins outside their shops to avoid litter. Correspondent
