Three dead as van falls into ravine

MINGORA: Three people were killed and 12 were injured in a road accident in Top Seen area of Swat district on Monday.
According to police, a passenger van bound for Mingora from Poran area in Shangla plunged into a deep ravine in Top Seen area of Khwazakhela tehsil after the driver lost its control negotiating a sharp turn.
Two people, including child Zohaib and Mohammad Alam, died on the spot, while 13 injured people were shifted to Civil Hospital, Khwazakhela, where woman Jan Bibi succumbed to the injuries afterwards.
GEYSER BLAS11 Two people were injured after an electric geyser exploded in a house inDureshkhela area of Matta tehsil on Monday.
Police said the blast partially damaged the house and left owner Fazal Ali and his 15-year-old daughter, Minar, injured.
They said the injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital, Matta.
WOMEN QUOTA IN LOAN SCHEME DEMANDED: Local Jamaat-i-Islami MNA Ayesha Syed on Monday demanded of the government to increase quota of women in the Prime Minister`s Youth Loan Scheme and replace in charge Maryam Nawaz by a parliamentarian.
Ms Ayesha told reporters at Swat Press Club that the government should attend to the problems of jobless women by increasing quota of womenfolk in the loan scheme.
She also said interest-free loans should given to youths.The MNA said instead of the prime minister`s daughter, a parliamentarian should be made the in charge of the prime minister`s loan scheme.
She also complained of excessive power loadshedding in Swat saying the local residents regularly paid electricity bills but were being subjected to prolonged power cuts.
`I will raise the matter in the National Assembly,` she said.
Ms Ayesha also regretted prolonged disruption of gas supply to the district and said she would highlight the people`s misery on the floor of the House.
She also said she would continue struggle for early completion of work on Chakdara-Kalam Road and establishment of Women University in Swat.
