Ex-student remembers

2014-12-24
I STILL remember how reluctantly I used to get up for school when I was young. I still remember the feeling after washing hands with freezing cold water.

I still remember the green sweater I loved and the green coat I always adored. I still remember the bus that used to provide the sacred service of `pick and drop` to us children.

I even remember the long route from PAF Base Badaber to the Army Public School Junior, Peshawar. Most of my great memories of childhood are associated with APS. I remember the mighty slogan that motivated me every day We shall rise and shine and it somehow still moves me through the harshest time of my life.

But on Dec 16, the most unfortunate day of our lives, the green sweaters and white shirts we wore turned red. The mighty slogan hanging above our heads turned dull and darlc.

Our parents shall now ever remain in the state of waiting for their young boys to return.

Pakistan is facing a war against terror.

Today the whole nation has united for bringing a revolution in Pakistan. Mothers who have lost their sons and daughters will one day raise their heads high and claim, `My sons, my daughters were the first to contribute to a revolution by giving the sacrifice of their lives` Today we shall rise from the ashes, unitedas one. Reliving the mighty slogan `We shall rise and shine`.

We are sent down by Allah, and to Him shall we all return.
