KARACHI: An old man committed suicide after killing his neighbour in the Tipu Sultan area on Tuesday morning, the police said.

They added that 65-yearold Abdul Ghani Baloch, aka Baba Afghan, opened fire on 40-year-old motorcyclist Bakht Rehman, when he was passing through a bungalow in PE CHS, Block6.

The motorcyclist sustained two bullet wounds and died while being taken to a hospital.

In the meantime, the Rangers and police besieged the bungalowowned by a former bureaucrat of Balochistan. The suspect saw the law-enforcers from a window of the house and instead of surrendering shot himself with the same pistol in the temple.

The Tipu Sultan police officer said that the old man was `emotionally disturbed` and attacked his neighbour without any provocation.

However, the officer added that since the victim and the suspect were neighbours, the murder might have been motivated by some issue between them.

The suspect had been a watchman at the bungalow of the bureaucratfor years and at the time of the incident he was alone.
