LAHORE: Former principal secretary to the chief minister, Muhammad Khan Bhatti, has approached the Lahore High Court against the inclusion of his name in the no-fly list and also seeks details of the cases registered against him.

Bhatti, who is also believed to be a close confidant of former chief minister Parvez Elahi, pleads in his petition that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) placed him on the no-fly list purely on political grounds. The FIA did not provide him the details of cases, if any, lodged against him, he adds.

The petitioner contends that the act of the agency is a violation of his fundamental rights, including the right to free movement.

He asks the court to order the FIA to remove his name from the Exit Control List and also submit the record of cases against him.
