Court suspends MC`s notification on stadium use

OKARA: The court of the senior civil judge has suspended the municipal committee`s notification which had cancelled the permission granted to cricket, hockey, football and other sport associations to use the Municipal Committee (MC) Stadium, including its indoor halls, without any prior legal notice or information.
Gymkhana Cricket Club President Mian Muhammad Munir, the former manager of the national cricket team, MPA, MC chairman and current PML-N district president, had filed a case with the court of Senior Civil Judge Javid Iqbal Thethia against the Punjab government, deputycommissioner, MC administrator, chief officer and district sports officer over the notification issued by the MC cancelling the agreements with all sports clubs and associations. It said any sport activity at MC stadium would be held only after the permission from the district sports officer.
It is important to mention that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had signed an agreement with the MC in 2001 under which the Gymkhana Cricket Club (GCC) would take care of the MC Stadium regarding all field necessities except electricity connection and water supply.
On hearing the plaintiff`s counsel Chaudhry Ghulam Mustafa Sadiq, the court suspended the MC letter until Feb 4 for furtherlegal proceedings.

As per the first information report (FIR), Muhammad Riaz along with two pillions on a motorcycle was going to his home atBastiIsmailin district Lodhran from Lahore. He was intercepted by one Omer and his two accomplices near Kissan Adda. Omer opened fire at Riaz and killed him on the spot.
The bone of contention was stated to be a case that Riaz had filed against Omer with City Police Station Lodhran. Saddar police shifted the body to the District Headquarters City Hospital and registered a case on the report of Riaz` brother.RAPED: A minor girl was raped by a shopkeeper at Rathoranwala Mohawks locality of Haveli Lakha.
As per the first information report, the seven-year-old girl went to a shop to purchase some kitchen items but the shopkeeper put the shutter down on some pretext. The Haveli Lakha police claimed to have nabbed the suspect after registration of a case on the report of the victim`s mother.
The Dipalpur judicial magistrate sent the suspect to the district jail on judicial remand till Feb 4.
District Police Officer Furgan Bilal visited the victim`s family and assured them of the provision of justice.
