Kidnapped boy released

RAWALPINDI: A child was kidnapped while playing in a park in Bahria Town. The suspects, who demanded a Rs1 million ransom on Tuesday night, was released after the child`s parents paid Rs400,000 to the kidnappers.

Ayyan Qamar Malik, 7, was playing with his brother in front of his house in Bahria Town Phase 8, when a woman approached him.

She brought him to a motorcycle already occupied by an individual, and then kidnapped him. Ayyan`s brother Aman saw the incident but could not stop the suspects, and then ran home and informed his father that the child had been kidnapped.

The child`s parents later received a phone call from the 1(idnappers.

Malik Qamar Islam, the victim`s father, said he received a call from the kidnappers at around 9pm. The caller demanded Rs1 million for his son`s safe return. After negotiations, the kidnappers agreed to a Rs400,000 ransom and told him where the money was to be delivered.
