RAWALPINDI: City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) teams on Wednesday imposed a fine worth Rs17,000 on food outlets for overcharging, preparation and sale of food items in unhygienic conditions.
The team led by Assistant Commissioner Dr Sataish Malik conducted surprise raids at food outlets in cantonment areas including Qasim Marl The assistant commissioner claimed that the antiadulteration campaign was in full swing to check profiteers.
She said those found involved in creating price hike by overcharging would not be spared. She warned shopkeepers and owners of other businesses against overcharging, adding that sale of unhygienic food items was a heinous crime and those violating the law would be dealt with strictly. A Reporter
