Separate column for special people sought in census form

TIMERGARA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf district councillor Saira Shamsul Qamar on Friday demanded of the federal government and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics to allocate a separate column for special persons in the census form so as to determine their exact number in the country.

Talking to media persons here, she regretted that the census form had no specific description for the physically challenged persons. She said that the persons with disability (PWDs) would move the court if the government failed to specify separate column for them.

`PWDs have some special rights which normal persons don`t have,` Ms Saira said, adding that it was the state responsibility to give special status to persons with disability.

Ms Qamar, who herself is a special person, said that if the government was sincere with the disabled persons it should include a separate column for them in the census form.

ARR EST SOUGHT: One Zakia Bibi, a resident of Ouch in Lower Dir, has demanded of the inspector general of police to arrest the killerofher son.

Speaking at a press conference at Chakdara, she said that one Ubaidullah and his brother Rahatullah had killed her son Mansur, who was a college student, on Feb 1. She said Rahatullah was arrested by Matta police, but Ubaidullah was still at large.

She complained that police was not arresting the killer who could leave the country. She demanded of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and the IGP to direct the Ouch Lower Dir police to arrest the accused.

Meanwhile, a councilor from Tangi Darra, Aalia Bibi, demanded of the government to provide gas connections to all residents of the area without discrimination. Talking to this correspondent here, she said that the blue eyed people and workers of ANP were being provided with gas connections, but poor residents were kept deprived of the facility.

BED RESULT: The University of Malakand on Friday announced B.Ed annual examinations results according to which Taskeen Mehmood got first position by obtaining 872 marks, said a press release issued here.
