PESHAWAR: The well-celebrated names in the field of literature and publication `Daastan` and `Words and Metaphors` KP`s first spoken word platform -in collaboration with Peshawar 2.0 arranged an event to celebrate literature, art and life.

Literary Evenings Vol.1 featured Laiba Sehrish and the launch of her nrst book `Abduction from the Lethe`. L aiba Sehrish is Peshawar`s first and youngest author to have had her work published at `Dastaan`.

The performers presented their own poems and were scored by literary names Norah Arif, lecturer at Islamia University, and Dr Hira Nazir as the judges. The poetry part had three rounds and the winner poets were given gifts.

In order to recognise the local talent in the fields of art and literature, the Literary Evenings also had slots dedicated to open mike, literary interactions and artistry to promote the culture and art in the region.

Literary Evenings Vol.1 has attracted friends from all walks of life, as Syed Shahraiz Shahid Gul, supply manager at Careem Peshawar, and Waqas Khan attended the event to advocate the support for literature and art. Bureau Report
