MARDAN: ANP provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has asked the party activists to get themselves ready for coming local government elections.
Mr Hoti expressed these views while addressing a meeting of workers at his residence here on Tuesday.
On the occasion, former provincial vice-president of Pakistan Muslim League-N Amanullah Khan along with several other party leaders and workers announced to join the ANP.
Addressing the function, Mr Hoti criticised both Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PTI chairman Imran Khan for `not highlighting` the issues of Pakhtuns.
He said that while the ruling PML-N focused only on Punjab, PTI chief Imran Khan mostly stayed in Islamabad while ignoring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where his party was ruling.
The former chief minister said that Pakhtuns were suffering owing to the power struggle between PML-N and PTL Mr Hoti claimed that ANP was getting popularity by each passing day and its candidates would clean sweep the next local government elections. `ANP is the only political force in the country which is capable to steer Pakhtuns out of the critical juncture.
The ANP leader said that the incumbent provincial government had failed to serve the people.
`We will bring together Pakhtuns right from Chitral to Dera Ismail Khan under the red umbrella of ANP for their rights,` he said, adding that no other party had the ability to do so.
Other ANP leaders, including party`s Peshawar president Malik Khalid Naseem, former deputy speaker of KP assembly Khushdil Khan, Arbab Tariq, Saqibullah Khan and Mardan chapter president Himayat Ullah Mayar also addressed the party workers.
