GUJRANWALA: A seven-year old boy died after falling from the roof of the house while flying a kite here.
Reports said that Habib was working as a servant at the house of Sheikh Qaisar. On Thursday, Qaisar and his family went to see their relative, leaving Habib alone in the house.
The boy went to the roof from where he fell down while flying a kite. On the call of the area people, Rescue 1122 officials reached there and rushed the boy to the DHQ Hospital, but he died on the way.
Police are looking into the matter.
POISONED: A newlywed girl was allegedly poisoned to death by her brother over some domestic dispute here on Friday.
Reports said the marriage of Tehmina was taken place last week and she visited her house many a time within a week.
On Friday, Sajawal mixed poisonous tablets in the food of his sister Tehmina and she fainted immediately after taking it. She was shifted to the DHQ Hospital where she died.
Civil Lines police have registered a case and are looking into the matter.
SURVEY TEAM: TheLahore High Court deputed on Friday a survey team in connection with a case of Gujranwala`s old city railway station.
Sources said the survey team would visit Gujranwala in a few days andpresentareporttothe LHC.
Reports said the team, accompanied by officials of archeology and railways, would monitor the renovation process of the old railway station.
PROTEST FOR DUES: At least 3,000 worl(ers of the Solid Waste Management Company and the Gujranwala Municipal Cooperation took out a rally on Friday to press the government for the payment of threemonth salaries.
The All Pakistan Local Government Workers Federation threatened to launch movement against the high-ups if the threemonth salaries of workers were not paid immediately.
Labour leader Naseeruddin said the government should pay dues to the Christian workers before the Easter.
