TIMERGARA: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Malakand, on Friday hurried up to provide examination halls with the `master copy` of the mathematics paper for grade-10 students because the paper sent to the halls had misprints, sources said.
They said that the examination staff had distributed first part of the paper among the students when the board authorities provided another copy and asked the staff to make proper correction to the students on the blackboard.
The mathematics paper for grade 9th held on March 22 had similar misprints that had confused thousands of students.
Though the board chairman, Prof Shaukat Ali, had said the other day that a committee had been formed to probe into the matter, the mistakes in grade-10 paper on Friday proved a serious negligence on part of the board authorities.
Sources said that mathematics papers for the grade-9 and 10th had been printed and packed without any proofreading and checking.
Parents of the candidates, meanwhile, demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the board authorities to take notice of the matter and initiate proper inquiry in this regard.
Prof Ali told media persons on Friday that the board had launched a probe into the matter.
