ANP asks govt to protect lives of Pakhtuns

PESH AWAR: Awami National Party provincial president Aimal Wali Khan has condemned the killing of four youngsters in Janikhel area of Bannu and asked the government to protect lives of people.

He said that bullet-riddled bodies of the missing persons were found in a localgraveyard that caused a sense of insecurity among all Pakhtuns.

Almal Wali said in a statement that it was a challenge for the government to control terrorist acts and take practical steps for protection of Pakhtuns.

He said that people had been facingthe horrible situation for the last four decades.

The ANP leader said that it was horrible that bullet-riddled bodies of people were found after their mysterious disappearance. He asked government to fulfil its constitutional responsibilities and protect lives of the citizens.

Meanwhile, A NP has convened meetings of its provincial cabinet, working committee and provincial council on different days to discuss the prevailing political situation and review the organisational matters of the party.

The provincial cabinet, working committee and provincial council will meet on April 5, 6 and 7 respectively.

According to a statement issued here on Wednesday, all meetings will be presided over by ANP provincial president Almal Wali Khan at Bacha Khan Markaz.

ANP provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak has asked all relevant office-bearers to ensure theirtimely participation in the meetings.

Meanwhile, the party has also formed committees of its senior members to visit different divisions and address district level councils to mobilise workers. The committee consisting of MPA Samar Haroon Bilour, Khadim Hussain and Masood Abbas Khattak will visit Malakand division.

Similarly, Agil Shah, Saqibullah Chamkani, Ijaz Yousufzai, Saleem Khan,FaisalzebKhanwillvisit Hazara division. Mukhtiar Khan, Rehmat Ali Khan, Mian Syed Laig Bacha and Sher Shah Khan will visit tribal districts.

Farid Toofan, Shahi Khan Sherani,Taimoor Baz Khan, Shaheen Zameer, Khadija Bibi, Wajid Ali Khan, Idrees Khan and Shahnaz Raja will visit Peshawar division. The members of the committee for southern districts include Khushdil Khan, Hussain Shah Yousufzal, Shazia Aurangzeb Khan, Himayatullah Mayar and Farooq AkramKhan.
