HYDERABAD: The unit office of the Young Paramedics Staff Association at Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) was closed on Monday. The hospital administration claimed that the unit office was handed over to the association without necessary permission.
The association`s general secretary, Ravi Tamboli, alleged that he was beaten up by some private persons at the instance of LUH official Dr Aftab Phull. Ravi uploaded such video on a social media platform. He said he was expelled from the hospital after being manhandled.
LUH resident medical officer (security) Dr Asif Memon submitted a report before the hospital`s medical superintendent alleging that Ravi Tamboli had entered the hospital premises even after having been relieved. Dr Memon said when the LUH security guards prevented him from forcibly opening the unit office, he turned aggressive and hurled abuses.
Dr Aftab Phull also rejected Ravi`s charges.
He said that Ravi, a BS-1 sanitary worker, was relieved from this hospital`s job on Feb 17, 2025 along with other association representatives, including Ghaffar Rind and Asif Jamil on serious charges of malpractices and questionable activities.
According to LUH additional MS Dr Faizan Memon, Ghaffar Rind, a laboratory technician and Asif Ansari, a dresser, had also been relieved from the hospital on proven misconduct.
Dr Faizan said that in certain inquiries, Asif Ansari was found responsible for misappropriation and theft of medicines.
