Cash, valuables looted from eight places

ISLAMABAD: Robbers looted cash and valuables worth millions of rupees from eight places in Islamabad, police said on Monday.

A gang of robbers snatched cash and mobile phones from two persons near the FIA cybercrime office at G-13.

Rafiq Shah said his tenant Sadaruddin paid him Rs330,000 and he was counting the cash in his car when two motorcycle riders held them up at gunpoint and snatched the amount along with an iPhone from him and Rs500,000 and a phone from Sadaruddin. In another incident, Shahid Awan, Mohammad Ovais and Ovais Khan were present at Khana Bridge when three robbers snatched their mobile phones and Rs20,000.

Fazlur Rehman told police that three armed men snatched his motorcycle at Dhoke Paracha.

Two gunmen raided a hair salon in the limits of Khana police and held up the customers and workers at gunpoint and looted Rs16,000 and three mobile phones.

Likewise, robbers snatched a motorcycle and a mobile phone from Mohammad Irfan in the jurisdiction of Ramna police.

Mohammad Tofiq told police that four armed men intercepted him at Sanam Chowk located in the limits of Khana police and took away his bike along with a mobile phone.

Meanwhile, two persons disguised as CIA staff robbed Mohammad Yousuf of Rs175,000 on the Expressway near Koral Bridge.

Hafsa Bibi, a resident of Bahria Town Phase II, told Loi Bher police that thieves stole four tola gold worth Rs1.5 million and diamond worth Rs300,000 from her house.
