Digital revenue system to be extended to all depts

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Monday decided to roll out the recently-piloted `E-Fine System` (Digital Muhasil) to all relevant departments as part of a major push towards e-governance and digitisation of government affairsin the province.
E-Fine System is a unified and integrated digital platform for online collection of fines and fees imposed by provincial government, according to an offi-cial statement issued from Chief Minister`s Se cretariat.
It said that directives were issued by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur to chief secretary to take necessary steps in all departments for implementation of digital revenue system across the province.
Initially launched on pilot basis in Peshawar, Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan and Swat districts, the system has yielded highly encouraging results, lead-cial statement issued from Chief Minister`s Se cretariat.

Initially launched on pilot basis in Peshawar, Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan and Swat districts, the system has yielded highly encouraging results, lead-ing to a significant increase in revenue collection in these areas.
According to official data, of a total of 4,219 challans issued in Peshawar, 4,201 were already paid under E-Fine System. The statement said that Dera Ismail Khan saw full payment on all 36 challans issued in the district. In Swat, 875 of 891 challans were settled while in Abbottabad, 282 of 289 challans were paid online.
`The system has thus generated more than Rs30 million rev-enue,` said the statement. It said that the directive issued from Chief Minister`s Secretariat stated that E-Fine System had not only improved transparency and accountability in the revenue collection process but also enhanced departmental performance.
`Most importantly, it provides convenience to people as citizens no longer have to visit government offices to pay fines and fees, saving them both time and resources,` it said.Given these advantages, the government intends to expand this modern online system to all departments that impose any type of fines.
The statement said that the directive stressed the need for establishing an integrated coordination mechanism among all relevant departments and developing a timeline-based implementation plan to ensure the system was rolled out across the province as quickly as possible. Bureau
