Edhi sets up labs at 15 schools in Lyari

KARACHI: The Edhi Foundation in collaboration with the District Municipal Corporation (DMC), Karachi South, has established laboratories at 15 schools in Lyari at the cost of Rs4 million, said chairman of the DMC, Karachi South, Mohammad Fayyaz, on Monday.

While spealcing at a ceremony at the Gulistan Colony Union Council to name School Number 30/31 after the eminent social worker, Abdul Sattar Edhi, Mr Fayyaz said this was a gesture to pay tribute to the late philanthropist for his outstanding services for the people without any distinction.

He said the establishment of the labs was a step towards provision of better education to the students.

Faisal Edhi, the son of Abdul Sattar Edhi, the Karachi South district president of Pakistan Peoples Party Khalil Hout, lawmaker elected from Lyari Sania Naz, chairman of the DMC educational committee Firdous Khan, Director Education Abdul Moeez Qazi, Municipal Commissioner Afaq Saeed, and others were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, Faisal Edhi and his wife Saba performed the inauguration of the labs by cutting the ribbon.-APP
