KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Jam Mehtab Dahar on Wednesday ordered the relevant authorities to take adequate measures to save a school from being encroached upon by land grabbers in Karachi`s Central district.

`My ministry is fully aware of the issue involving Government Muneeba School in Block 6 of Federal B Area and no land mafia will be allowed to occupy the school at any cost,` said the minister while presiding over a meeting at his office.

He said there was no truthin the reports that the school`s ownership was being tampered with. He asked the secretary (schools) to depute at least two watchmen at Govt Muneeba School during summer vacation to prevent any attempt by the land grabbers. `The watchmen should be tasked with keeping a vigilant eye on the activities of the land mafia.

Students`drowning The minister also took notice of the drowning of students from a private school in Orangi off Hawkeshay on Tuesday and asked the director general of private educational institutions not only to probe into the incident but also ensure that no school should take its students to picnic without taking precautionary measures in future.
