Teachers want increase in charge allowance paid

KARAK:Thelocalchapter of Tanzeem-i-Asataza on Friday threatened to move court if the provincial government didn`t issue the notification regarding increase in the charge allowance of heads of educational institutions before Eidul Fitr.

Speaking at a meeting, central finance secretary of the organisation, Khairullah Hawari said the Balochistan government had already increased in the recent budget the monthly charge allowance of primary school head teachers from Rs100 to Rs500, middle school headmasters from Rs150 to Rs1,000, high school headmasters from Rs200 to Rs2,000 and principals from Rs300 to Rs3,000.

He said the PTI-led provincial government had announced to increase the charge allowance in 2015-16 provincial budget, but it failed to notify the same.

BOY ELECTROCUTED: A young boy was electrocuted, while five others were seriously injured in a road accident. Police said threeyear-old Hashim was playing in the yard of his house when he touched a naked electricity wire and sustained serious injuries. He was immediately shifted to women and children hospital, Karak, but could not survive.

Police said two motorcy-cles collided head-on on Karak-Darratang road in Ganderi Khattak area, as a result five persons, a woman among them, were seriously injured. The police said the injured were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Takht-i-Nusrati.

PROTEST: People of Kamanger, Shagi Lawagher, Dabli Lawagher, Khusra, Faqirabad and adjoining villages of Lawagher region took to the streets on Friday against lack of facilities.

Theythreatenedtolaunch a protest movement against the elected representative of their constituency if they were not provided the basic facilities. The residents said elected representatives, particularly MNA Nasir Khan Khattak, did not bother to visit their constituents after winning the elections.

They said the lawmakers had not spent any development funds on uplift of the area in three years and complained that the main road leading to the hilly region from district headquarters was a narrow strip which needed to be widened and blacktopped.

The protesters said there was no drinking water, electricity and gas supply to the areas, complaining that they fetched water from the same source where the animals drank.Correspondent
