However, Faisal`s brother Qaiser told Dawn that his younger brother was working as security in-charge in a godown in Shah Jamal and did not come home on Wednesday night. He said they went to his workplace and inquired from the employers about him and no one knew about his whereabouts.

He said the family in the meantime continued calling at his brother`s mobile phone but he would not respond and the policeman started hurling threats of dire consequences.

He said that on Friday they received a call from a police officer who told them that his brother had committed suicide and that they should visit the Ghaziabad police station.

Qaiser said the police of ficials were giving contradictory statements about the death of his brother. He blamed police for his killing and demanded that the higher-ups take action against the officials involved in the incident.

Qaiser said they had filed in an application in the Ghaziabad police station for registration of a case against the officials.

CIA Civil Lines DSP Mian Shafgat said the arrested man was involved in a number of robberies and committed suicide.

CIA Superintendent of Police Tariq Mastoi had suspended the investigator and the constable from service for negligence and also registered a case against them.
