SUKKUR: Three men of Badhani tribe were killed when they came under attack by their rival Shar tribesmen who gunned them down reportedly to avenge murder of a fellow tribesmanin Chak village near Shikarpur town on Friday.

Police said the attack and ensuing exchange of fire between two groups of Shar and Badhani tribes were outcome of an old dispute between the groups. The deceased were identified as Ali Hassan Badhani, Shahmir Badhani andNaveed Badhani, said police.

Soon after receiving report about the clash, police rushed to the area and managed to control the situation after cordoning off the village, said police officials.

They said that Badhani and Shar tribes had been at daggers drawn with each other since the murder of one Jalal Shar reportedly at the hands of some Badhani men some time ago. Police bought the dead bodies to Lakhi Ghulam Shah taluka hospital for post mortem, they said.-Correspondent
