KASUR: A couple and their two minor sons died while three others were injured in a road accident on Jamber-Changa Manga Road on Friday.

According to Rescue 1122, Munir, 30, with his wife Munaza, 28, and three children Zainab, 1, Faizan, 7, and Ahmed, 4 and niece Maria, 18, was riding a motorcycle when near Jamber village, the bike and a truck collided.

Faizan and Ahmed died at the scene while the injured were rushed to the T HQ Hospital where Munaza was also declared dead. The other three injured were referred to Lahore due to their criticalcondition where Munir also succumbed to his injuries.

The driver fled, while the police impounded the truck and lodged a criminal case against the driver. Also, the Chunian police held three farmers for beating an elderly woman alleging she had stolen fodder from the fields at Attari Singh village.

DPO Sohaib Ashraf took action after the video of the incident went viral on social media. The woman was identified as Hanifa Bibi, 55. The police booked eight suspects, including Nazir Ahmed, his sons Awais and Bao and brother Bashir Ahmed. Correspondent
