Two more boys drown in mini dam in Adiala

RAWALPINDI: Two more boys drowned in a mini dam in Adiala on Monday. With this accident, the number of youngsters who have drowned in the last week has risen to four.
On the other hand, efforts by the Rescue 1122 staff to fish out the bodies of the two youngsters who drowned in Jhelum River near Bareti Phagwari Murree continued for the fifth day on Monday.
In the latest incident, two boys drowned in Khasala Dam on Adiala Road. Shortly after the incident was reported, the rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.
According to rescue officials, the bodies were fished out of the water by divers and shifted to hospital. After being retrieved, the medical team performed CPR, but they could not be revived.
Quoting witnesses, the emergency services said the two boys were taking photographs while bathing when they drowned. They were identified as Shazaib, 22, a resident of New Murree and Sher Afzal, 19. The bodies were later handed over to their families.
Meanwhile, search continued for Qasim Abbasi and Faisal Abbasi who drowned in Jhelum River on Thursday.
Rescue teams along with emergency vehicles had been deployed at Bareti, Tain Dhalkot, Kotli Sattian and Azad Patan Kahuta. The rescue personnel were engaged in search operations at three places Bireti, Tain Dhalkot and Azad Patan.
The emergency services personnel have also sought help from the local community and told them that if anyone spots a dead body, they should immediately call on the emergency number 1122, the officials said.
