Lawmaker for improving cleanliness in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT, July 24: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA and district development advisory committee chairperson Ms Zarin Zia has asked the officials of local administration and municipal committees to improve cleanliness conditions and take steps to curb price hike, hoarding and other illegal practices.

She was chairing a meeting at the district headquarters complex here on Wednesday. Additional deputy commissioner Pir Mohammad Mehsud and other officials of the district administrationand civic bodies attended the meeting.

Mr Mehsud claimed that the local administration had removed all encroachments in Lakki and Naurang towns besides ensuring fair prices of daily-use commodities in bazaars. He said that the administration officials were monitoring the performance of municipal committees with focus on improving sanitation conditions.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms Zia called for taking legal action against adulterators, hoarders and profiteers. She said that land grabbers and those involved in construction of encroachments on govern-ment land should be dealt sternly.

She directed the authorities concerned to bring an end to traffic mess on roads and eliminate illegal parking stands in Lakki, Naurang and other towns of the district.

She also asked the officials of municipal committees to remove garbage dumps and clean chocked sewerage drains on daily basis.

`I will monitor the performance of government departments and will submit a weekly report to the provincial government proposing action against negligent officials,` she warned.
